Wedding of Lauren & Josh
How did you find out about Sophia Grace Couture?
Instagram. After searching through lots of bridal shops in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Sophia Grace Couture was one of the one that impressed me the most. I loved the way they advertised their shop and dresses.
How would you describe your experience at Sophia Grace Couture?
Amazing.
I went with my maid of honour, my daughter, mum and gran who used to be a wedding dressmaker. I had no idea what I was looking for, I described to Ines what I definitely didn’t want, she allowed my family and me to have a look through the dresses to get a feel for them and then she choose a few dresses for me to try on. Two dresses in and I had found the one. Ines matched a veil and accessories and completed my dream look for my wedding! I was told my dress would be ready early August, which it was, I picked my dress up and was even more in love with it. Ines was so supportive throughout my journey.
Thank you so much Sophia Grace couture and an extra special thanks to Ines for helping me find my dream dress!
Tell us about your dress and why you choose your particular gown
I choose Enzoani - Raquel, a fitted dress with a subtle mermaid fishtail to it. The detail on this dress is just wow. I loved how the 3D floral lace with lots of sparkle was used throughout the dress from bust to train. Simply stunning.
How did you meet? Are you happy to tell us about the proposal?
Josh and I met each other in the local pub on Hogmanay 2015.
Our proposal 2021, Josh and I have always loved Christmas Eve; the excitement to see the kids’ faces in the morning; the rush; the stress; the magic. After the kids go to bed and ‘Santa’ has been we always reflect on previous Christmases, however this year Josh had a surprise for me, he had made a video filled with all our favourite memories and the years spent with one another and at end of the video he proposed. Of course I said yes. It was perfect.
What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?
I wanted a very clean white neutral coloured wedding, however after my husband decided on a royal blue tie I added some subtle baby blue very last minute.
What made you decide upon your chosen venue?
Dalmeny Park House Hotel was the first venue we had visited, we were completely blown away with how stunning it was, we loved how modern it was inside but still had the traditional old castle vibes outside.
Tell us about your wedding
Words cannot describe our wedding, it was the most special day. Our celebrant George McLean made our ceremony so personal and meaningful. For our symbolic act we choose to do handfasting and included our 2 children. After our ceremony we headed outside, thankfully the rain stayed off for us to do some pictures where our fur baby Ruby joined us. We chose to have a sweetheart table for our meal which was lovely, it allowed us to get some time together. Our day will filled with so much laughter, we both smiled from start to finish, the night ended with all our family and friends dancing the night away with our fabulous Dj Dan Dewar and sax player ElliotGSax.
What was the most memorable moment?
The morning of the wedding, waking up with my daughter, bridesmaids and mum. Moving our stuff into the dressing room, dancing and drinks flowing. Having all our suppliers arrive and them just fitting in with us all. Seeing my daughter in her beautiful dress and doing a first look with my son who pulled out his buttonhole flower to give to me. Then finally walking down the aisle with my mum to Josh was such a heartfelt moment I will never forget.
